Why Rest and Ice Isn't Enough

If you've ever had a sports injury or active lifestyle strain, you've probably tried resting, icing, and waiting it out. That might help the swelling, but it doesn't fix the root of the problem. Without proper care, you're left with lingering soreness, stiffness, and a higher risk of re-injury.

At Alcoa Chiropractic & Wellness Center, we take a physical medicine approach to help your body recover the way it's meant to. Our treatments are hands-on, non-invasive, and focused on real healing — not just temporary relief. Whether it's a recent injury or something that's been nagging you for a while, we focus on restoring movement, reducing pain, and helping you stay active safely.

Common Conditions We Treat

Tennis elbow and golfer's elbow
Tendonitis and joint inflammation
Carpal tunnel syndrome
Runner's knee and IT band issues
Shoulder impingement and rotator cuff injuries
Shin splints and plantar fasciitis
Back and neck pain from activity
Muscle strains and joint restrictions
Post-workout soreness and stiffness

How Physical Medicine Helps You Heal

We work with athletes of all kinds — from weekend hobbyists to college and pro-level competitors. Our care starts with a full exam and posture assessment to understand exactly what's happening with your injury.

Assessment & Diagnosis

Injuries often throw your body out of balance, leading to joint restrictions, muscle tension, or nerve irritation. We perform a comprehensive physical exam to identify the root cause of your pain and movement issues.

What we look for: Joint mobility, muscle imbalances, posture problems, and movement patterns that may be contributing to your injury or preventing proper healing.

Hands On Treatment

We use gentle adjustments, supportive therapies like heat or cold, and guided stretches to help bring your body back to proper function. Our treatments are designed to reduce pain, restore mobility, and promote natural healing.

Treatment methods include: Chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, therapeutic exercises, and education on proper movement mechanics to prevent re-injury.

Recovery & Prevention

Once your pain improves, we'll show you strength and mobility exercises to keep your muscles working well and protect you from future setbacks. Our goal is to get you back to your activities stronger and more resilient.

Long-term benefits: Improved movement quality, reduced injury risk, better performance, and the knowledge to maintain your progress independently.

You don't need to guess. Take the first step toward feeling like yourself again. Call 865-432-1448 to schedule your consultation today, or book online to get started on your journey to better recovery, movement, and overall wellness.
